5-29-07 meeting

Music drafts:

End theme music – post experiment pre battle with Brownbeard:
  • Bob: brought in music and lyrics. Barb changed some of the lyrics. Pre-Brown Beard encounter.
  • Rework few lines: add hand washing & the last two bring back to sciences key to knowing – testing, experiment…
  • Bob will reword and bring back for next meeting
Opening spooky theme
  • Bob will rework, possibly remove the French horns and make other changes.
Loop background music:
  • CC made a list of sounds still needed for Bob to make loop. Please email to Pam
  • We can revisit this when its a bit more completed; Ideas are being through around. old man monkey?
  • Same music for beach walk around.
  • Same music for each of the entrances.
Powder Monkey:
  • Let's put this aside for awhile.

  • Have "observation" part come up sooner and remove before the lyrics talk about "It’s a question…"
  • "Hypothesis" bring up sooner on chalkboard.

5-21-07 meeting

We need 3 groups of music:

1. Rousing theme song with vocals. Used at the end of the game on the way to the battle that recaps what was learned in the game, and should be fun, rousing, shanty-like.
  • two part song. First is sung on the ship by pirate captain (she) with the other pirates in chorus. It is in preparation to go to battle. It recaps that "we" have learned it isn't a curse but bacteria, washing hands gave us the proof, we observed, then experimented, and know why we should wash our hands. Let's get Brownbeard and reclaim our treasure.
  • second part: Again, sung by captain and pirate combos. Celebration for receiving our gold from Brownbeard, there's no more curse, he rules no more, we're free to discover and continue our pirating ways. Now that we know science, we won't be led astray again... bacteria doesn't scare us, but neither does ignorance, as we can use our methods to find the truth.

2. Background orchestration for opening narration: approximately 90 secs: The original music we have is attached with narration. Matt will send you just the narration and we can re-record it if we need to. We like the sweeping, mysterious, stormy, historically piractical... should feel like a movie trailer, get kids excited about this.

3. Walk around loop-ables

5-14-07 meeting

Hand washing experiment activity:
  • Pam working on the Hypothesis Tree and the text for end hand washing sign at end of activity.
To solve the graphic issue under the deck:
  • reduce the current 4 doors to show only 3 - remove the kitchen door.
  • start with the cook in the bathroom, leaves without washing hands, goes off stage and hear audio of the cook going into the kitchen.
  • set up about 4- 6 different dialog for the bathroom.
  • when player visits the bathroom same dialog doesn't play twice in a row.
  • player will observe the bathroom and see there is no soap and sink hasn't been used.
  • KEY POINT for player to notice no soap
  • NEED
    • Need bathroom scene
    • in the bathroom dialog
    • sound effects
IVDV script:
  • Barb approve the hints and Pam will send to Amy.
  • After approval Jeremy will start on sounds.

  • Make sure the veggies are shown being washed in running water.
  • Change the rocket tiki to spring jump action.

May 7.07 meeting
