Changes to Monkey Fruit based on feedback

Let's redesign with the following
- in instructions, we need to convey that the monkey just goes, he doesn't follow the fruit... "These monkeys are always going... but we've found that each fruit makes them do something. USe the fruit to get the monkey through the maze..."
- remove question marks
- keep ability to not collect coins
- but... count coins on screen
- introduce optional "observations" icon that tracks what the fruit does... it is optional and shows only what they've discovered... it will be banana = then pop up and they can fill it out)
- hint icon (it will cost you a coin, with a cha ching)
- make figure 8 puzzle a bit easier
- more levels
- need a "clear board" button to start over
- smoothie icon shows what fruit is in it by color with a tool tip noting the fruit
- add duck, climb and throw coconut

Monkey Fruit approaches

Our new ideas on monkey fruit are:
Our approach is to do just one variable at a time in each level.
• No lab: we start right with game play
• Level 1: there are bananas and apples and grapes and monkeys and crates and holes, etc. You explore getting the monkey through the maze giving him one fruit at a time. Simoultaneously, you track your observations onscreen (apples make the monkey turn right).
• Level 2: you see your observations from level one. And your host tells you it is more complicated… suggesting you need to make combinations… She suggests that you can make fruit smoothies… let’s take a minute to propose what actions the smoothies do (apple and grape makes him jump and turn right) They use smoothie and lone fruits to get them through. While doing this, at some point, they see the hypothesis (If I combine this and this, the monkey will do this), but not every time.

Concerns about the Snoobie Doll

Our science consultant was concerned about the voodoo in snoobie. We are going to present to him...

• We change Snoobie doll to a drink… eliminating the poke as the cause… the drink is the cause.
• We keep gross, weird, randomized things to add to the drink
• We keep:
-- Kids determine for themselves that a baseline is a good idea
-- Kids determine for themselves that isolating one variable at a time is a good thing.
