8-16-06 Independent/Dependent Variable test

Make the initial test for the new IN/DEP variables into flash.

Add an initial fill in the blank, text only version first and track the results off website. This will give a marker if the game helped the students understand IN/DEP.

Animate instructions about IN/DEP –have Barb’s example of the sunscreen instructions in animations.
- Start with blank screen and audio or text “some pirates on island are testing sunscreen”.
-Testing 4 different sunscreen.
-- 1st test - they will apply on Bob the ________ sunscreen for the same amount of time.
-- 2nd test - they will apply on Bob the ________ sunscreen for the same amount of time.
-- 3rd test - they will apply on Bob the ________ sunscreen for the same amount of time.
-- 4th test - they will apply on Bob the ________ sunscreen for the same amount of time.

For the last fill in the blank, text only version, use the coconut tree experiment, what fertilizer makes the tree grow.
- Same kind of tree
- Same growing conditions
- Apply different fertilizer to each
- Measure how many coconuts…

Circle which ones are the constant in each test. and which is independent and dependent.

Add a hint button.

Barb will write out after all the animation is done.

Test with kids.

Change what needs to be changed and redo.
